Grave of The Fireflies Blu Ray

Just released on Blu Ray, Isao Takahata's 1998 animation masterpiece. Grave of the Fireflies is a classic and perhaps one of the greatest anti-war movies ever made.  Yes I know it's animation and the content is not for family viewing, but if your prepared to shed some heart felt tears, then Grave of the Fireflies will not disapoint.

When the renegade crew of Serenity agrees to hide a fugitive on their ship, they find themselves in an action-packed battle between the relentless military might of a totalitarian regime who will destroy anything - or anyone - to get the girl back and the bloodthirsty creatures who roam the uncharted areas of space. But, the greatest danger of all may be on their ship. From the mind of Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) comes a new edge-of-your-seat adventure loaded with explosive battles, gripping special effects and fantastic new worlds!

The TV series "Firefly" was cancelled after just 9 episodes , thankfully fan pressure and extraordinary dvd sales convinced Universal Studios to buy the rights to make a full blown movie called "Serenity". Perhaps continued fan pressure can convince Fox or indeed Universal to start a new series. In the meantime the following links should provide you with enough content to keep the dream alive. Interestingly fireflyseason2.com is doing it's best to drum up interest in a subscriber only season.
